Peoria, like other cities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, offers great convenience of entertainment, dining, bars, and more. Some of our favorite restaurants in Peoria include Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, and Fabio on Fire!

Looking to spend a day outside? With Arizona being the center of MLB Cactus League, the Peoria Sports Complex is home to both the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners for spring training. These games draw crowds from all over to watch their favorite teams.

Multiple hiking trails can be found in Peoria, along with well-maintained public parks and amenities. Take a short 40 minute drive up north, and you’ll find yourself paddling around in Lake Pleasant. Fishing and boating are more common pastimes than one may expect, but us Arizonans love spending time in the water.

Peoria City History:

In 1886, William John Murphy, who had worked on the Arizona Canal, recruited settlers to create a new community in Arizona. Because many of the settlers came from Peoria, Illinois, they soon decided to name the new city just that: “Peoria”. Incorporated in 1954, Peoria has been on a steady trajectory to becoming one of the most comfortable and quiet places to live in Phoenix.
